About this emoji keyboard
EmojiToolkit is a free emoji keyboard for your browser. It lists more than 1,800 standard Unicode emojis, sorted into the same nine categories your phone uses: Smileys & Emotion, People & Body, Animals & Nature, Food & Drink, Travel & Places, Activities, Objects, Symbols and Flags. Tap any emoji and it is copied to your clipboard, ready to paste into Instagram, Threads, TikTok, YouTube, Discord, an email or a document.
It is handy on a computer, where there is no emoji key on the keyboard, and on a phone when you can't remember which category an emoji lives in. Search works in English and in Chinese, so typing "heart", "ๆๅฟ", "cat" or "่ฒ" all find what you are looking for.
How to copy an emoji
- Type a word in the search box (for example "star", "flower" or "็ๆฅ"), or pick a category.
- Tap or click the emoji you want. A message confirms it was copied.
- Go to your app and paste (long-press โ Paste on a phone, Ctrl+V or โ+V on a computer).
- Need several emojis together? Use the Emoji Mixer to build a whole string and copy it in one go.
Why does an emoji look different on another phone?
An emoji is a standard character, but every company draws its own picture for it. The same smiley looks a little different on iPhone, Android, Windows and inside some apps. The meaning stays the same, but if a detail matters (like the color of a heart), check it on the device your audience mostly uses.
New emojis are added to the Unicode standard every year. If someone's phone hasn't been updated, a very new emoji may show up as an empty box or a question mark. For important posts, older and well-known emojis are the safest choice.
Tips for using emojis in captions and bios
Put an emoji at the start of each line of a bio to make it easy to scan, for example ๐ for your city, โ๏ธ for contact details and ๐ above your link. In captions, one or two emojis that match the mood usually look cleaner than a long row.
Remember that screen readers read emojis aloud by their name, so "๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ" is read as "fire, fire, fire". Keep important information in words and use emojis as decoration.
